WebQuest Connections for the K-12 Classroom: Discover the Power of Using an Internet-Based Model to Facilitate Project-Based Instruction

 

 

The online workshop is offered June 29 through August 7, 2009 by Sandy Schaufelberger, instructor for Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne. The course is taught completely online, with no required class meeting times, but there are projects with specific deadlines throughout the 6-week course. It is a 3.0 undergrad credit hour course, offered through Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne. For registration information, contact the instructor.

 

Course Objectives: Participants will...

 

1) Study the elements of effective WebQuests and the rationale and value of each

 

2) Examine the many WebQuests online and learn how to locate relevant and appropriate resources to support student learning

 

3) Develop a keen understanding of how to use the Internet and other Web 2.0 tools more effectively for instruction

4) Gain hands-on WebQuest development experience through examination of templates and formats most commonly used

5) As a final product, develop a WebQuest for use in your classroom.
